My lunch today was not amazingly notable, but I’d like to tell you about it anyway. Mainly because of the stuffed peppers, it was one of my first attempts at ‘art’ in the form of food. The red is a stuffed pepper, feta and olives. Not amazingly exciting to look at, but more presentation than normal and very tasty! Do please provide your ideas for similar takes on this, I’d love to know if there’s a traditional dish of a similar type.

Kind regards, Robert.

Those of you who know me well know that I like food. Lately I’ve been making my own lunch with near enough whatever I please, within reason. The following are some of the recipes I’ve used.

The first

A bagel, I favour the New York variety.

German salami, I generally consider most other countries efforts to be inferior.

Soft cheese, I generally use French.

Olives.

Take the bagel, chop it in half and spread the cheese over it.

Take the salami and put several slices over each half of the bagel, preferably cover the cheese.

Take the olives, halve then and spread a thin layer of them over the bottom half and close it up.

Eat and enjoy.

The second

A bagel.

German salami.

Italian salami.

Soft cheese.

Olives.

Pepperdew peppers.

Take, chop and cheese the bagel.

Use the German salami to cover the cheese.

Again, cover the bottom with olives.

Cover the olives with the Italian salami and if you want some more cheese.

Chop the Pepperdew peppers in half and cover the Italian salami with them.

Rejoin the bagel and enjoy.

The third

A baguette.

Salami, preferably German.

Feta cheese.

Olives.

Rocket.

Sun dried tomatoes in oil.

Jalapeños.

Halve the baguette.

Cover the two halves with the salami, make sure it overlaps, this acts as a bag to prevent the rest escaping.

Add thin slices of feta, half olives, slices of jalapeños and sun dried tomatoes.

Put a few bits of rocket on top.

Munch!

That’s all I’m going to give today, I hope someone actually uses one of those. I know they’re pretty simple but it might give you an idea for lunch or something along those lines.

Please add your own salad, I haven’t specified it because you could include it in the baguette/bagel or as a side salad. When I say German salami I mean standard pepper covered German salami, try it with different ones if you so feel.
